My friend and I came up with the idea for Selfme because we both are very
social people, and we often have friends on our social media using emoji. However what
weve found is that they frequently send us pictures of their faces showing different
emotions, which has revealed to us that people want more than emoji can offer. They
want to get their message across with the appropriate emotion, and they want to do it
frequently, quickly, and seamlessly.
Selfme! is an emoji keyboard that you can download just like the hundreds of emoji
keyboards out there on the app stores, with one major difference - your own selfies are
the emojis. Selfmes. So instead of selecting a predefined icon of a smiley face and hitting
send, you would select an icon of your own face smiling that you previously created. A Selfme.
It’s super simple to create Selfmes, and we recognize that most people have tons of selfies already existing in their Instagram, Facebook, and whatever other social media accounts. Theyve got themselves looking all fine and filtered and they want to share those selfies. So creating your gallery of Selfmes is as easy as importing them from your other social media. Its already cropped, filtered, adjusted and ready to go. Or you can create one on the fly, using your smartphone camera.
